Shining the Spotlight on Our Community
OUR MISSION: Spotlight Musical Theatre is dedicated to using student-produced musical theatre to positively impact the community, both the Claremont Consortium Community and beyond.
OUR STORY: Spotlight MT was started in response to the desire to expand the limited musical theatre opportunities at the Claremont College consortium. The initial concept was solely a musical theatre performance company, which would produce shows by college kids, for college kids. However, we realized we wanted to do something bigger than that. We love theatre because of the impact it has on the world around us, and we wanted to concretize that impact. And so, Spotlight MT was founded, with the mission not only to produce high-quality musical theatre, but to produce impactful musical theatre.
Who We Are
Rosie Corr
Founder and Artistic Director
Rosie (Pomona College, 2023) has been singing and dancing her whole life, and has been a self-starter just as long, hence the creation of this company. She is majoring in Theatre and Economics.
Annika Hoseth
Founding Board Member
Annika (Pomona College, 2023) dazzles with her voice, dance, and music, with a deep love for musical theatre. She is planning on majoring in Music and Math.
Rinny Williamson
2021-22 Board Member
Rinny (Scripps College, 2023) has a deep passion for creating and helping others to feel confident enough to create in any way they find most meaningful without judgement. She is planning on majoring in Classics and minoring in Theatre while going on the pre-med track.
Aviva Miller
2021-22 Board Member
Aviva Miller is a rising Scripps sophomore who loves to perform. She greatly appreciates the joys that theater at the 5cs have brought her, and is so excited to get more involved in the theater community at the 5cs!
Mia Valenzuela
2021-22 Board Member
Mia (Scripps College, 2023) is a playwright, poet, and performer from Santa Ana, CA with a love for telling stories both on the stage and on the page. She is majoring in English and is an Aquarius sun, Sagittarius moon, and Taurus rising.
Tiffany Zhou
Graduate, Served on Board 2020-21
Tiffany (Pomona College, 2021) is a theatre major with a passion for music and dance and supernatural thrillers. She is thrilled to bring more musical theatre to the 7Cs.
Regina Famatigan
Graduate, Served on Board 2020-21
Regina (Scripps College, 2021) is a Politics major with minors in Theatre and Media Studies. Musical Theater has been a life-long passion of hers, so she is ecstatic for the opportunity to share it with the incredible Spotlight community and beyond!!
